The Bedford Living Room Project

This living room design pays homage to the heritage of a 1950 Cape Cod home while celebrating Pittsburgh’s native artists, from Andy Warhol to Frank Lloyd Wright. The space combines Midcentury Modern grounding elements with a clean California-inspired twist, creating a living area that feels both timeless and fresh.

A neutral palette sets the tone, featuring a painted stone fireplace with a concrete mantel, warm oak flooring, and sleek black iron railings. The room is anchored by a handmade tufted rug, cozy upholstered armchairs, and crafted natural wood tables that add organic warmth and texture. Tactile textiles layer softness throughout, while bright, contemporary artwork pops against the black and white backdrop, infusing the space with personality and vibrance. Stained oak finishes further enhance the inviting atmosphere, blending modern style with classic comfort.
